PROVINCIAL GRAND LODGE ANNUAL MEETING 2017

Posted on 04/07/2017 by Martin Schoolkate

Dunston was again the setting for the Annual Grand Mark Lodge meeting when brethren from all over the country came together and celebrate another successful year of the Durham Mark Province.

The Lancastrian Suite in Dunston, Gateshead, was the venue once again for another very well attended and busy Annual Provincial Meeting of the Durham Mark Master Masons.

The organising team had worked tirelessly to ensure everything was ready for those many Brethren who had travelled from far and wide to enjoy and take part in this important occasion in our Mark Masonic calendar.

After an impressive entrance parade, which included the Representatives of the Royal Ark Mariner Lodges, RWProf.Denovan Keith Wilson opened Provincial Grand Lodge in due form. Salutations were given and duly acknowledged by the distinguished Guests and Officers.

The provincial Grand Chaplain invited the assembly to remember those Brethren who had sadly passed to the Grand Lodge Above this last year.

After the completion of the usual business the Provincial Grand Master was delighted to Install WBro.David Nigel Hanson,AGDC, as his new Assistant Provincial Grand Master.

This was followed by the appointment and investment of the 38 Acting Provincial Officers for the ensuing year, as well the 31 Promoted Provincial Officers for 2017-2018.

In his address the PGM congratulated those who had been Appointed and those who had received Grand Rank in London. He appreciates that everyone is extremely active and richly deserve their appointments and promotions." You are highly valued members of our extended Leadership Team and I know I can rely on you to continue your good work."

Just before the meeting came to a close, the PGM was delighted and honoured to promote WBro.Ronald Trevor Lynn, Provincial Grand Secretary, to Past Provincial Grand Senior Warden with immediate effect. This in recognition for the excellence and dedication shown by Trevor for all his work he is doing in the Province as Provincial Grand Secretary.

After having presented these brethren with their Collarettes, RW Prof. Denovan K.Wilson thanked them all for their special efforts in promoting the Mark Benevolent Fund.

After the meeting closed the room was made ready for an excellent festive board which the nearly 300 diners enjoyed in good cheer and which closed another Mark Masonic Year in it's customary friendly manner for which the Mark and Mariner Degree are so well appreciated.
